Territorial Office for Foreign Citizens

The Territorial Office for Foreign Citizens ensures the access to the healthcare services which are aimed at E.U. and non-E.U. citizens. In particular, it coordinates the Dedicated Outpatient Clinics, as well as the activity of issue and renewal of S.T.P. (Stranieri Temporaneamente Presenti - Temporarily Staying Foreign Citizens) and E.N.I. (Europei Non Iscritti – Non-registered EU citizens) cards, that is carried out in the Dedicated Outpatient Clinics, in the Health Centers and in the Hospitals of the Province of Ragusa.

Non-E.U. citizens who are in possession of a valid residence permit and E.U. Citizens who have the necessary requirements, can register to the National Health Service (S.S.N. - Servizio Sanitario Nazionale).

Urgent and essential care in outpatient clinics and hospitals, even if continuous, is ensured to Non-E.U. citizens who are not compliant with entry or residence regulations, and to E.U. Citizens who have not the requirements for the registration to the National Health Service. These services are ensured by means of the issue, respectively, of S.T.P. and E.N.I. codes, which are valid for six months, and that can be renewed upon expiration.

All E.U. and non-E.U. foreign minors, up to the age of 14, are entitled to have a pediatrician.
