Activities of the Operative Unit for Medical Genetics

Medical Genetics Consulting:

Personal and family medical histories;
Drawing up of family trees;
Examinations of clinical and instrumental records;
Clinical examinations;
Prescription of specialist medical examinations, hematological and instrumental investigations, genetic and molecular analyses;
Collection of informed consents for genetic investigations.

Collection and sending of biological samples
for chromosomal and/or genetic-molecular investigation:

Samples are sent to the different Sicilian and Italian laboratories where the abovementioned investigations are performed;
Specific follow-ups of the subjects who suffer from genetic diseases.
