Activities of the Operative Unit for Medical Genetics
Medical Genetics Consulting:- Personal and family medical histories;
- Drawing up of family trees;
- Examinations of clinical and instrumental records;
- Clinical examinations;
- Prescription of specialist medical examinations, hematological and instrumental investigations, genetic and molecular analyses;
- Collection of informed consents for genetic investigations.
for chromosomal and/or genetic-molecular investigation:
- Samples are sent to the different Sicilian and Italian laboratories where the abovementioned investigations are performed;
- Specific follow-ups of the subjects who suffer from genetic diseases.
