The Department of Surgery has the mission of providing the community with the most modern and up to date surgical procedures.
It deals with all the time-dependent diseases pertaining the 3 ERs of the Authority, in addition to performing many other typologies of planned activities.
Moreover, it aims to reduce and reverse the trend of emigration for healthcare reasons, by means of the expressed competences.
The Department of Surgery of A.S.P. Ragusa consists of 9 Advanced Operative Units and 5 Departmental Basic Operative Units:- 3 Advanced Operative Units and 1 Departmental Basic Operative Unit of General Surgery;
- 2 Advanced Operative Units and 1 Departmental Basic Operative Unit of Orthopedics;
- 2 Advanced Operative Units and 1 Departmental Basic Operative Unit of Ophthalmology;
- 1 Advanced Operative Unit and 1 Departmental Basic Operative Unit of Urology;
- 1 Advanced Operative Unit and 1 Departmental Basic Operative Unit of Otolaryngology.
