It is a functional-type Department and it has the task of coordinating the carrying out of advanced functions.
The Department of Services is related to all the Operative Units belonging to the different Departments of the Authority. It has the mission of supporting Operative Units in reaching a diagnosis by means of clinical-diagnostic and instrumental tests, through research, implementation and examinations of the systems (guidelines, protocols, computerization, etc.). The Department uniforms organizational, administrative and care procedures, as well as the use of the equipment, by also promoting new operational models.
The Department also promotes:
- an interdisciplinary approach of the activities with the other Departments, Authority Districts and the other divisions of A.S.P.;
- the reduction of unnecessary and redundant procedures;
- the unification of the activities based on criteria of efficiency and efficacy;
- an optimal use of human resources and equipment;
- the humanization of care and the improvement of service accessibility for the patients;
- the training and the professional updating of the personnel;
- it pursues the objectives which are assigned to it by the Authority;
- it assesses the quality of the services which are provided.
