The establishment of the Department for Social Healthcare Integration arises from the increasing awareness of the strategic role played by the territorial primary and specialist healthcare activities in the integration process between the social services of the Local Authorities and the healthcare interventions and policies which are issued at regional level.
As a consequence, the Department for Social Healthcare Integration exercises technical competences and performs direction, coordination and assessment duties as regards the quality of the services provided by the district and assistance facilities of the Province of Ragusa, as far as the following activities are concerned:
- Elderly care and integrated home care (A.D.I. Assistenza domiciliare integrata);
- Legal medicine and forensic medicine.
