The Internationalisation and Health Research Service (S.I.R.S. - Servizio Internazionalizzazione e Ricerca Sanitaria) is established in each Authority referring to the Healthcare Administration of Sicily, in order to coordinate and support internationalisation, health research and planning. The objective is to strengthen the Regional Health System bodies, to connect regional healthcare to Europe and facilitating the sharing of best practices, in order to improve performances and the health of citizens, by taking the opportunities offered by national and international invitations to tender and plans.
The Service performs activities related to the participation to European and international research and innovation programs, in the field of healthcare. Moreover, it develops projects for programs related to health and social care. The Service has already developed and is developing several projects, both as promoter and partner, in EU and cross-border cooperation programs.
