The Psychology Service is autonomous, interdisciplinary, and it reports directly to the General Manager. It is organized as follows:
  • Interdistrict Management of the Service and Internships Coordination (Advanced Division);
  • Ragusa District Operative Unit of Psychology (Basic Division);
  • Vittoria District Operative Unit of Psychology (Basic Division);
  • Hospital Operative Unit of Psychology (Basic Division).
The Service performs the activities which do not expressly fall within the competences of other Services, and carries out, in particular, the following activities, which regard all the psychologists of the Authority:
  • Technical and scientific coordination of the activities of professionals;
  • Planning of the training of professionals;
  • Monitoring, assessment and promotion of psychological services;
  • Development of models and collection of data which are useful in relation to the specificity of the profession;
  • Coordination of internship activities;
  • Planning of research on the territory.
The Service autonomously performs its activities in the Psychology Outpatient Clinics of:
  • Ragusa;
  • Modica;
  • Vittoria.
The Service guarantees the presence of psychologists in the teams of:
  • Family counseling clinics;
  • Advanced Operative Unit of Psychiatry;
  • Child Neuropsychiatry (N.P.I.);
  • Drug Addiction Support Service (SER.T.);
  • Multidisciplinary units for disabilities;
  • Hospitals;
  • Emergency Psychological Team (E.P.E.).
The Psychology Service provides the following services:
  • Clinical psychology;
  • Social psychology;
  • Developmental psychology;
  • Individual psychotherapy, couple psychotherapy, family psychotherapy, group psychotherapy;
  • Psychodiagnostics;
  • Educational psychology;
  • Health psychology;
  • Psychological habilitation and rehabilitation for adults and minors;
  • Psychosocial rehabilitation for adults and minors;
  • Psychological counseling and support;
  • Counseling for institutions and non-profit organizations of social value, by means of memorandums of understanding;
  • Fiscal certifications.
